EARLY BIRD LIONS CLUB REGULAR MEETING

August 22, 2008 MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by –Lion Don acting for She-Lion Mary.

8 Members were present; Lions, Mike, Joe, Dennis, Vern, Tim, Dan, Gustavo, and Don. Heather Ferguson was speaker. Meeting was held at the Corner Bank since Daisy Mae’s was closed.

The flag salute was led by Lion Joe, song was led by Lion Mike and Invocation was given by Lion Joe.

Minutes of August 8th, 2008 Regular Meeting were presented, motioned for approval by Lion Vern, seconded and approved.

No Happy Bucks or fines were collected and no drawing was accomplished.

Heather Ferguson, Director of the Land Rush Museum presented a program on the activities of the Museum and asked for help and donations..

There were no new activities with Leos.   Sight – Lion Dan is working two student cases. Membership Chairman Dennis had nothing new. Lion Mike had no new Activities.

Unfinished Business – Lion Tim reminded all of Tomorrow’s District cabinet meeting in El Dorado and urged all to attend.

New Business - none

Other Committee Reports

• Fun Barn BBQ – Lion Tim – Setup will be on Thursday the 28^th. Need help.

• Calendar sales – Lion Dick – was not present.

• River of Life Concert – Lion Dennis – nothing new

• Ambassador Basketball – Lion Mike – Jan 22^nd 2009 – described the progress to-date and requested help in personally asking for Sponsors.

Correspondence – none.

Announcements and reminders – August 23^rd District cabinet in El Dorado – August 29^th Fun Barn BBQ Cook-off – September 12^th Regular Meeting
